How does GNSS RTK work?

A GNSS RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) receiver works by using signals from satellites along with corrections from a nearby fixed “base station” to figure out its position much more precisely than a normal GPS; both the base and the moving “rover” receiver see the same satellite signals, but since the base has a stationary position, it can calculate the tiny errors in those signals and send corrections to the rover in real time, allowing <1” accuracy.
