How do I set up a Rover on a pole?

Once a base is configured, you can now set up your rover SitePoints. Rover SitePoints move around the worksite either on a pole or on a machine to measure points.

1. Mount SitePoint on a pole

2. Press the power button once

3. Mount your phone/tablet so it's directly below the power button with the SitePoint’s arrow facing forward.

4. Open the Kinsman app and select work profile.

5. Follow the app instructions to connect to your rover SitePoints and initialize

Pro Tips:

• Ensure your pole is fully extended to 1.8 meters or enter the pole height in the app.

• If you are using a Kinsman pole, extend each pole section until you see either the Max or 1.8 line.

• When initializing the rover on a survey pole, use a “stirring the pot” motion while keeping the tip of the pole stationary. Fast and jerky movement helps initialize the rover.
